Puppy Information
Due to overwhelming puppy requests, we have implemented a waiting list. We cannot guarantee when a puppy (or young adult) may be available for you; however, by staying in contact with us and visiting our website, we can try to keep you informed. Everyone must complete the Puppy Application and send in their deposit, prior to being approved and placed on our waiting list. Should your Puppy Application not be approved for any reason, the deposit will immediately be returned to you. At 8wks of age, we compare each puppy with the breed standard and grade them accordingly for their strengths vs. weaknesses. We also assess their personalities at this time. In our opinion there is no such thing as a perfect puppy, we recognize there is always room to improve and learn. The results from this screening process are then matched with the appropriate family, with the information you've provided on your Puppy Application form. This is not a first come, first served basis. Our goal is to place each individual puppy in the most compatible home. Also by this time, the litter will have been wormed and had their first of a series of two puppy vaccinations. Your puppy will also be tattooed/microchipped by now. Between 9 and 10wks of age, Newf litters are taken to a Board Certified Cardiologist who will screen them for any heart conditions. Once all of this is accomplished the puppies can leave to join their new families. While deposits may be provided by way of personal cheque, final payment must be in the form of guaranteed funds (ie/certified cheque, money order, bank draft, cash, etc…) and must be paid prior to the puppy leaving our premises. We are approx. 20 minutes from the Castlegar airport and an hour from the airport in Trail. Any puppy flying out will arrive to you C.O.D. We do have a limited number of "puppy crates" that can be lent to you for the flight; however, we ask that after your initial 72hr vet visit, you return the crate, prepaid via Greyhound. Flight arrangements will be made after final payment is received. We place ALL our puppies on CKC Non-Breeding Agreements. Other arrangements may be made to allow for showing; however, in those instances, a co-ownership is mandatory. In countries other than Canada, puppies cannot be on a CKC Non-Breeding Agreement while being shown; thus the need for a co-ownership. There will be no additional cost to have the CKC Non-Breeding Agreement lifted when the time comes; however, strict criteria must be met prior to that happening. For example the dog must acquire ALL health clearances and achieve titles before or after it's name. As well, attendance at seminars given by Pat Hastings and Myra Savant-Harris RN, are strongly recommended (links to these highly respected women can be found on our Links page). This arrangement must work for all parties involved. We feed a raw / natural diet to our crew based on the B.A.R.F. diet (Bones And Raw Food or Biologically Appropriate Raw Food). If you are interested, go to the Mountain Dog Food website from our Links page. We stand behind our dogs 110% providing you with written guarantees and unlimited support throughout the lifetime of your dog.
